West Bengal Orthopaedic Association (WBOA) is a pristine and prestigious consortium of the Orthopaedic surgeons of West Bengal. I am humbled to have received the baton of the post of President for the year 2022-23. In recent years, WBOA has emerged to be one of the best State chapters in India . Academic activity and upliftment of the quality of orthopaedic knowledge and training of the Orthopaedic surgeons were the primary goals since the inception of the Organisation. WBOA has progressed extensively since then. Different sub speciality fields of Orthopaedics under the aegis of WBOA have excelled with the scientific content and training facilities . Social commitment of WBOA by different charitable and philanthropic activities specially in recent years has earned attention of media and common people. In the last two years, the whole world observed the massacre of Covid pandemic with horror and utter despair. Members of this esteemed association rose up to the occasion and fearlessly stood beside the members of the affected families .This really justified the truest sense of the term 'Association' - an Organisation with 'humane' face.

With the gradual fading out of the pandemic, the physical format of academic activities are definitely going to be boosted up from current year. I am sure, with the guidance of seniors , we can jointly forge ahead with more academic activities ,more focused training programmes for the PG students and juniors , with emphasis on organising Cadaver workshops.

I really feel lucky and blessed to be to be associated with a galaxy of talented, young and energetic colleagues who are dedicated to this Organisation . Together we stand strong and united to pledge for a better and more academically enriched WBOA.

West Bengal Orthopaedic Association has been immensely successful in maintaining its vision of being an institution for the furtherment of orthopaedics in both academic and technical sectors in the state of West Bengal. It is a proud privilege to work as Hony. Secretary of this prestigious Association through thick and thin.

We have organized several seminars and conferences and provided crucial assistance to members ever since our inception, and our vision is to continue doing the same with even higher standards to meet in the years to come.
